The story
What it is
A child tells a story and you photograph their drawing. Tellibo turns both into a short animated film of about a minute, and nothing is made until a parent approves the story.
Why I built it
Kids tell incredible stories, but turning their imagination into an animated film is usually out of reach for most families. I wanted to make that experience accessible: a child's imagination should be enough to create something they can watch and share.
What I built
A pipeline that handles the rest once a story is in: structuring the narrative, generating characters and scenes, adding voiceover, and assembling the final film. No prompts, no directing scenes, no wrestling with AI tools. Just a story in, an animated film out.
One of the biggest product decisions was balancing visual quality, character consistency, generation time, and cost.
What I learned
A compelling demo is only the beginning. Making AI-generated video feel like one coherent story requires coordinating several imperfect systems. Every quality improvement has to be weighed against generation time and cost.
Where it stands
The app is built and ready. I'm preparing to launch it to a small test audience soon, so I can see how people experience the full journey and what needs to improve before a wider launch.
